Amr Eleraqi

Amr Eleraqi is an Egyptian journalist with 10 years experienced in data journalism and information design. Amr has extensive experience in print, TV and online journalism. He has started his career in journalism as business editor at an Egyptian magazine covers finance and business sectors. He used to report, edit and lead a data-driven unit for a newsroom: Data analysis, data visualization, and data-led stories. Then, Amr moved to Dubai and worked at Yahoo News as an editor. In 2012, he founded infotimes.org the first info graphic website in the Middle East. He has been shortlisted by GEN’s data journalism awards twice in a row. Amr is also a freelancer Mentor and has already delivered tens of training courses on data journalism inside and outside Egypt in cooperation with reputable organizations such as: BBC Media Action, Internews and Free Press Unlimited. He has BA in Business Administration. Amr has recently published his first book "Data Journalism", which is carried out over the last two years and considered as the first book written - not translated- in Arabic.
